Greetings from Captain Rick and Captain Jeremy,

Captain Rick and Captain Jeremy both work exclusivly for MISS JUDY CHARTERS. To book either of us please call (912) 897-2478 and request either of us. If we are unavailable on the day you want to fish, Miss Judy has the resources to book you with another Captain, or possibly rearrange our schedule to fit yours.

The graphic above is Captain Jeremy holding a 23 and 1/2 inch Seatrout caught on June 8,2005 in Wassaw Sound. This fish had a girth of almost 12 inches and weighed almost 5 lbs. Put the mouse over the graphic to see a decent Tripletail caught Oct 12,2007.

Captain Rick has been fishing the Savannah area since 1986. Captain Rick and Captain Jeremy operates From Thunderbolt, Ga. Thunderbolt is nestled between Savannah, Ga. and Tybee Island, Ga. on the intracoastal waterway. Captain Rick specialty is Sea Trout, while Captain Jeremy targets Redfish. As Shown on this website, large redfish can be found anywhere from the Saltponds in Wassaw sound, all the way past the floodgates and into the old rice canals in South Carolina. While Rick cannot guarantee you a fish, you will have a great time and a Safe Trip while exploring the coastal outdoors pursuing these fish. Another common inshore fish that is fun to catch is the summer flounder. During the cooler months of the year, catches of large striped bass are in order.

However if you are just out to have a good time catches of ladyfish, bonnet head sharks, Spanish mackerel and black tip sharks are very common during the summer months.

Also of interest year round is fishing Georgia’s many nearshore reefs. Catches of black sea bass, triggerfish, and all the porgies as well as sheepshead is common. Spiny dogfish and red snappers are often caught as well. Some of the nearshore reefs are only 5 miles from Thunderbolts coast. Common nearshore reefs close to Thunderbolt are the KC, SAV and CCA reefs.

If you don't want to fish but just sightsee, Thunderbolt Charters is for you. Thunderbolt is centrally located to the most interesting sights. You can see Bonaventure Cemetery from the water, where the Famous Bird Girl pictured on the book Midnight in the Garden Of Good and Evil was located. You can see some of the forts that protected Georgia’s coast during the civil war, or get lost in the Southern rice plantations of South Carolina.

Another fun activity is catching live shrimp. Capt. Jeremy has the equipment and expertise to assist you in filling a cooler full of Georgia shrimp. The primary months for this activity are during late September - through October. This sport is primarily done at night, but shrimp can be caught during the day as well. Capt. Rick will gladly instruct you on how to open a cast net.
