Capt.
Rick had a 2 person charter today for Miss Judy Charters. Water temp was
72° at most spots, and despite the heavy rains at times, clear. We
fished through the front that was supposed t be passing on Sunday, it
was a day early. We were part of a 3 boat group charter. The other 2 boats
headed out to Wassaw sound and caught whiting, but my guys wanted to try
for Redfish.
Capt.
Jeremy had put a hurten on them yesterday so he clued me in on where to
try. My 2 guys only wanted to keep 4 fish, so we decided to keep 3 flounder
and 1 redfish. We released about 18 more slot reds and 2 that were right
at 26 inches long. First cast, either a huge red or black drum broke my
guy off in the oysters. Good day despite rainy conditions. We had to move
around quite a bit, but did get into several schools of big reds. Unfortunatly
NO TROUT.

Capt.
Jeremy had a 4 person charter today for Miss Judy Charters. Water temp
was in the low 70° 's at most spots and the wind was blowing stiffley.
Water clarity was good in sheltered areas. Didn't catch alot of fish,
but caught a few oversized reds. They kept 3 redfish and 1 black drum
and release a couple over 24 inches. Also ran into a school of bluefish
around cabbage island.

Capt.
Rick had a 2 person charter today for Miss Judy Charters. Water temp was
69° at most spots, however after leaving the sound with only a bluefish
bite, we found some 72° water. The young man caught 4 keeper redfish
and his mom caught 1 red and 1 blue fish. The blue was released as was
the 25 inch overslot sized red that was caught. Water temp should be rising
quickly now. The wind was from the North West and gusted to 20 knots.
Water clarity was excellent and the live shrimp were very frisky.

Capt.
Jeremy had a 3 person charter today for Miss Judy Charters. Water temp
was 69° at most spots and the wind was really blowing around 20 knots
from the east/north east as a cold front approached. This was a continuation
of yesterdays high winds. Capt Jeremy found some warmer water and was
able to capitalize on it. His 3 people kept 15 redfish, from 14 inches
to 23 inches. They released several more over 23 inches including a couple
of 27 inch + redfish. Capt Jeremy made a great day with poor fishing conditions.

Capt.
Rick had a 4 person charter today for Miss Judy Charters. Water temp was
69° at most spots and the wind was really blowing around 20 knots
from the east/north east. We fished the last 3 of the outgoing and the
first of the incoming. We finally got into a good school of redfish when
we found the water temp at 71°.
The extra couple of degrees made the difference. These
fish are hungry. Also pictured below was a dead sturgeon I saw tangled
up in some dredging equipment on the savannah river. All fish were released
unharmed. We released 10 redfish.

Capt.
Rick had a 3 person charter today for Miss Judy Charters. Water temp was
65° and the wind was really blowing out of the East to North East.
This was a pickup at the Weston and part of a 2 boat charter. Didn't get
to many bites, but did catch a stingray and lost a very nice redfish in
the structure. These were experienced anglers, but the bite was off.

Capt.
Jeremy had a 4 person family charter today for Miss Judy Charters. They
were very successful, and caught and kept 7 whiting and a very nice 18
inch flounder. Water temp was pushing 65°
and the air was about 78°
.
Water was stained but fishable.

Capt.
Rick had a 4 person family charter today for Miss Judy Charters. They
indicated that they didn't care what we caught, they just wanted the kids
to catch something. So we decided to head out to Wassaw Sound and try
for some Spring time whiting. Water temp at 8am was 65° in Turners
Creek, but it dropped to between 63 and 64 out near the ocean. Started
off with the Father catching a fish I couldn't identify. Then they caught
a couple of stingrays . The whiting bite did turn on and we kept 13 and
threw back a few more. On the way back in we tried a couple redfish drops
with live shrimp and didn't get a bite.

Capt.
Rick scouted the area for some nice water. Ran up the Savannah River and
found water clarity the color of mud. Water temp was between 55- 57 near
the flood gates. Decided to check the water out in Wassaw sound and found
very clear water with a water temp between 56 and 59 degrees. Shouldn't
be much longer before everything comes alive . Below is a shot of the
water at high tide out in Wassaw.

Capt.
Rick had a 4 hour charter for Miss Judy Charters today. It was a group
charter with another inshore boat. The air temp was 32 and the water temp
was 47 at Bahia Bleu, but warmed to 50 by the end of the day. Trip started
a little late, so we stayed out for about 5 hours. Wind was out of the
north at 11 knots. Water was very clear. Had 2 good bites during the day
, but didn't catch. The other boat had 2 bites as well and landed 1 spiney
dogfish that was in Wassaw Sound. These sharks are normally out on the
nearshore reefs, but this one strayed in a little close. The kids were
really excited and wanted to catch, but the water is still very cold and
the reds didn't show up today.

Capt.
Rick had the chance to take 3 guys out for an afternoon of inshore fishing.
Wind was out of the west at 20 to 30 knots. Water temp was 52°. Because
of such a strong west wind, we had to look for protected water and was
limited to where we could go. The bite was very slow and they missed every
fish that did hit. The conditions were truly awful, but they did get a
couple of shots at some big reds near the grass. We had to make a pit
stop, near landings harbor and I snapped a picture of an Inticer cork
hanging off the power lines, Right next to the top of the Palm tree. It
was a tuff day of fishing.

Capt.
Rick had the opportunity to get out on the water for a little while today.
Water temp had warmed to 48° in the Wilmington River in front of Bahia
Bleu Marina. Ran about a 1/4 mile in both directions and noticed a few
dead trout. I had a report of a substantial fish kill in south channel.
Substantial would be more than 500 that I had heard was the estimated
fish kill around the Savannah River area. These couple of reports that
I heard about were not verified by me. I only saw a few in the area that
I was in.

Capt.
Rick had a 3 person 4 hour charter today for Miss Judy. I had a father
and mother from Wisconson and their son from Ft. Stewart. Air temp was
mid 40's to low 50's and the water temp was 48°
at most drops. The Bite was slow but the fish were quality keepers. All
redfish were in the 18 inch range and the biggest fish of the day was
a 22 inch speckled seatrout that weighed in at almost 5lbs. We started
fishing at 1:30 and called it a day at 5 pm and headed back in. It was
cold and windy, but the fish still would take a live shrimp.
