Rick went on scouting trip for a couple hours out in Wassaw Sound. Water
temp was 58°, but the wind was a stiff 10 knots out of the west. Water
clarity was poor. Air temp creeped into the upper 70's. Pitched artificial
gulp baits for a while and caught and released a few seatrout. The trout
were hitting the electric chicken pattern, while the redfish hit dark
brown 4 inch shrimp. Kept 1 fish for a demo next month.

Rick went on a scouting trip out in wassaw sound with Capt. Jack Mcgowan
of Miss Judy Charters. We were only out for a short time, but got into
a feeding frenzy of speckled sea trout. Most fish were released. Water
temp was low 50's. All trout caught and released on artificial. We did
not have a camera, so no pictures today.

Rick had a chance to go fishing / Scouting with Capt. Jeremy and Mr. Charles
Finney on Charles 25 foot Seaquest. We ran to some of Charles numbers
out towards the snapper banks and had a very nice day catching black sea
bass, vermillion snapper and a couple of red snappers. Water temp was
in the low 60's off shore and the wind was only about 5-10 out the Northeast.
Here is a picture of Charles holding a nice red snapper caught on live
        bait.

Rick had a 4 hour charter for Miss
Judy Charters. Today the winds were
out of the south west/ west at 10 - 15 knots. Very slow action, the slowest
for me in 3 years. Water clarity was good, but with the new moon, tides
were faster than normal. Water temp was 53° at most drops. We never
did find a very good bite in the limited time on the water. I did idle
over a non marked crab trap in 4 feet of water and spent 30 minutes cutting
it off my prop. As you can see by this brief report, that we report the
good, bad, and the ugly . On the positive side we started late enough
to miss most of the rain.

        Capt.
Rick had a 6 hour charter for Miss
Judy Charters. Today the winds were
out of the north east at 15-20 knots early then dropping to 5 to 10 knots.
        The water temp was
        51°. We
fished the last hour of the outgoing and the next 5 of the incoming. The
air temp was in the mid 20's when we started. I pulled my bait tub out
of the river and the water froze on the dock.
      Finding
clear water out of the direct wind was essential. The day started slow,
but when the bite did happen it didn't let up. Unfortunatley we ended
the trip during the trout bite. Final count was 5 keeper redfish and 4
keeper trout. We released quite a few reds as well. The largest trout
was 16.5 inches and weiged a shade over 2lbs.

        Capt.
Jeremy had a 4 hour charter for Miss
Judy Charters. Today the winds were
out of the north west at a stiff 15+ knots and the water temp was
        52°. Fishing
was challenging today as the wind never let up. Final tally for the day
was 4 keeper Reds and 2 keeper trout.

Jeremy had a charter for Miss
Judy Charters. Today the winds were
out of the west at 10-15 knots and the water temp was
        61°.

Water clarity was good in some spots and stained in others. The trout
bite was slower than earlier in the week, but they kept 6 Redfish, 2 trout
and 2 blue fish. Release quite a few short trout.

Rick had a 4 hour charter for Miss
Judy Charters. Today the winds were
out of the west at 5 knots. Water temp was a cool 61°.

Water clarity was excellent and the fish were biting. We kept 14
speckled sea trout and 1 bluefish. Most fish today were caught
on live shrimp under the traditional float but we did catch a few under
the inticer popping cork. We released another 10 or so, with a flounder
        mixed in.
